Asia Trip Part Two (Karon Beach, Thailand)

We left Hong Kong on my birthday (March 14th) for Phuket Thailand. Once we landed in Phuket we had an hour taxi ride south to Karon Beach.

When we arrived at the resort they presented you with these traditional welcome flowers. They smelled so good! They also gave you a cool towel, drink and a fruit tray in your room. The fruit was all from Thailand so we were not sure what it would taste like. We had to ask the bellhop that brought our bags up what part of the fruit to eat. :-)

Cool bird house structures in the lobby.

Live music.

Walking to the restaurant at the hotel

Buddha Monastery and surrounding hillside. We could hear the chanting and praying every morning from our room.

Part of the Buddha Shrine

Karon Beach - directly across from our resort. I got a massage on the beach here for an hour and a half for $20!
Fish Spa! They had these outside of most massage shops. You put your feet in and the sucker fish eat away the dead skin on your feet. Our pool friends from Australia swore by it.

I couldn't handle it because it tickled so bad but Trevor was able to do it for a few minutes but barely. His feet actually did look a lot smoother afterwards.Tuk Tuk to Kata Beach where we snorkeled. A lot of the Tuk Tuk's had amazing sound systems. You could hear them coming for miles and the bass would vibrate you while you stood beside it. :-)
Long tail boats would take you to surrounding beaches or islands off the coast.

We finally made the sunset on our last night. We had to run to make it.
Trevor took this picture of Gavin jumping and we were laughing because it looks like he was photo shopped in or on strings.
Trevor's artistic side...
We did a lantern for good luck and sent it away with our wishes for the year.
There it goes....
You can still see it! It burned forever.
Thai beer

These are before Gavin learned to swim and didn't need his floaties anymore! By the time we left he was going down the slide, diving and swimming with no floats! We were really proud because he has only had one swim lesson.
The hotel's tuk tuk. The property was so large they would take people to different parts of the resort in these and golf carts.
Our favorite restaurant and where the breakfast buffet was every morning. The buffet had everything you could want. It was pretty impressive.

Gavin with his favorite bartender. The Thai people LOVE kids. They always want to touch them and talk to them. They kept asking Gavin to stay in Thailand with them. hahaView from Trevor's dive boat
Big Buddha
The parasail operators would ride in between the ropes of the parasail with nothing holding them and then they would drop down like this right before landing on the beach!
