'Upolu Samoa Vacation

Small Twin Otter prop plane, with big Samoans, no air and stormy conditions. I was feeling pretty good until the tail started fishtailing as we were trying to take off.

Tala exchange rate was $1 usd to every $2.30 tala.

Taufua Fales on Lalomanu Beach (about 1 1/2 hr drive from Apia)

Our open air Fale. We had the enclosed one but they had some right on the beach with no walls. If we did it again we would choose the no walls because the breeze is better.

Gavin liked the net.

Nu'utele Island in the background. Great snorkeling. The reef was pretty healthy.
Hotdog Soup...a first for Gavin.

Fiafia show. The show was great. Good music, singing and dancing.

Coconut water

Lalomanu Beach

We didn't have a whole lot of time to explore but we are hoping to go back to see the To Sua Ocean Trench which is a sunken waterhole with sheer rock walls which to get down into you climb a wooden ladder!

Shuttle Bus and friends from American Samoa. Hobbs, Valerie, Bella and Jack.

Drive to Apia

Sunglasses stopped the wind.

Apia, Samoa

Our hotel in Apia. Very nice!

Lobby ceiling

Hotel Bar and Pool. One of the venues for the International Blues and Jazz festival was under the white tent by the pool. What a great venue!

Church in Apia

Awesome Fish Market. A Yellow Fin Tuna was going for $40 usd.

Apia market with Kava bowels and Lava Lavas

Gavin listening

Listening to the music. It was really HOT so we had to drink a lot of beers to stay hydrated. :-)
Chelin and Oliver from American Samoa
