Grandparents!

Before we went on our trip to Dom Rep we drove down to Greensboro, NC for a visit with Grandma D, Papa Gary and Uncle Seth.

Grant and Gavin loved the tree house they built for the grandkids.

My mom broke her ankle a while ago and it was hurting so Seth and Gary had to stand on one foot as well.

Gary's favorite toy "flame thrower". He uses it for weeds supposedly. 

 

Then we had a visit from the Parra's when we got back from vacation. Here we are celebrating Cinco De Mayo in Old Town!!!!

Went on a tour of Mt. Vernon which is only 3 miles from our house. We got caught in a heavy down pour while we were walking around. Luckily it stopped pretty quickly. This is the home of Martha and George Washington. It was a HUGE estate. We thought we were going to drive up and look at an old house and then leave. ha They had an orientation movie, farm animals, education center, actors dressed in period costumes walking around and a treasure map for kids. But the Pièce de résistance was George's dentures. They were on all the marketing material and you were not allowed to take pictures of them.

We also went into DC and visited the White House and Lincoln Monument and walked around the Mall. It was a lot more spread out than I remembered. We said next time we are bringing our bikes.
