Christmas and the Big Ballon 5k race

We had a wonderful Christmas morning. All the aunt and uncles were over. Gavin was totally spoiled.

Here is Gavin opening his first Christmas present. It was from Eileen and Sean.

(side note: for all who have not been around Gavin in the past couple of months he is obsessed with swords and knives the same way most kids his age love Thomas the Train or dolls. Not sure what to think of it but maybe he could be an Olympic fencer???) :-)

Really loving his "little computer". Thanks Grandpa Willy and JoJo! Its already been a lifesaver.

Today Gavin, Papa and I ran the 5k Big Balloon Race that kicks off the Holiday Bowl football game. It was a great day. The weather was nice and the balloons and bands were awesome. The run kicks off the parade so you are running in front of all the spectators. Gavin got out and ran with us part of the way. He was so fast everyone around us was laughing. He was like the sprinter we were trying to keep up with. Do they have races for three year olds?

Post race! Watching the parade. It was pretty chilly once the wind picked up so I have two jackets on.

Whoaaaa Betty almost flew away in the wind. Gavin said "Papa, she is going down fast. Lets go help them".

Back up! Maybe its those knockers that saved her?

Of course the only thing Gavin fixated on was the "baton maker". He asked to go find her about a hundred times.

U of Washington was one of the teams playing. Maybe its a sign?
